G400P with 4 modules only 3 are up

Something wrong with SIM cards? I don't see any pin in Your config, could this be the problem? "gsm show spans" shows, that modems are initialized and OK, SIMS inserted, but something is wrong. I'd suggest to check asterisk logfile to see what's wrong.

Hi,

Could you please perform `gsm intensive debug span 1` to enable the AT command debugs on the console?

And then post its results here.

Easy: The SIM cards are PIN free.

Joe: Could it be something wrong with the G400P card? I had to restart the server and the "service dahdi start" went fine but the leds on the card are off and i get this:

computer-3*CLI> gsm show spans
GSM span 1: Provisioned, Down, Active
GSM span 2: Provisioned, Down, Active
GSM span 3: Provisioned, Down, Active
GSM span 4: Provisioned, Down, Active

After stoping asterisk service and DAHDI and starting the DAHDI service again I get the "Running dahdi_cfg: DAHDI_SPANCONFIG failed on span 1: Invalid argument (22)" error.

Thanks.

Hi,

To confirm if the card is broken, please let me know your card's led blinking status.

Normally, the LED D8(near the first module) and D9(near jumper 4) will be blinking once your system booting up. And the blinking frequency of D8 is less than D9. Meanwhile, the LED1 to LED4 will be starting blinking when opvxg4xx is loaded during the booting up process.

How about your card?

Hi Joe,

When the system loads up (booting) all 4 leds lighten up then LED4 (as in the manual) starts blinking, then LED3 and LED2. LED1 never gets on after the initial check.

I've tried with dahdi-linux-complete-2.4.0+2.4.0 and the latest one and the symptoms are the same. With astersik 1.8 and 1.6 :-( I'm on CentOS 5.6.

When I do service dahdi start I get:
Loading DAHDI hardware modules:
  wct4xxp:                                                 [  OK  ]
  wcte12xp:                                                [  OK  ]
  wct1xxp:                                                 [  OK  ]
  wcte11xp:                                                [  OK  ]
  wctdm24xxp:                                              [  OK  ]
  wcfxo:                                                   [  OK  ]
  wctdm:                                                   [  OK  ]
  wcb4xxp:                                                 [  OK  ]
  wctc4xxp:                                                [  OK  ]
  xpp_usb:                                                 [  OK  ]
  opvxg4xx:                                                [  OK  ]

Running dahdi_cfg: DAHDI_SPANCONFIG failed on span 5: Invalid argument (22)
                                                           [FAILED]
At this time the 3 LEDs closest to the external supply are all blinking.

In asterisk cli if I do "module load chan_extra.so"
  == Parsing '/etc/asterisk/chan_extra.conf':   == Found
  == Parsing '/etc/asterisk/extra-channels.conf':   == Found
  == Parsing '/etc/asterisk/users.conf':   == Found

Unable to load module chan_extra.so
Command 'module load chan_extra.so' failed.

After some tries of restarting DAHDI the error "Running dahdi_cfg: DAHDI_SPANCONFIG failed on span 5: Invalid argument (22) [FAILED]" disappears but the LEDS are all turned off and the command gsm show spans gives:
GSM span 2: Provisioned, Down, Active
GSM span 3: Provisioned, Down, Active
GSM span 4: Provisioned, Down, Active
GSM span 5: Provisioned, Down, Active

Any ideas? Should I return the card?

Thanks for you time helping me out.

Hi,

Could you please provide remote ssh info to us? I would like to have a check your system before returning the card. Is it possible?
